At-Home Strategies
- Make "ooh" and "aah" sounds close to baby's face, wait for response, and imitate any sounds baby makes back to you.
- During diaper changes and feeding, have face-to-face conversations with baby, pausing to let them coo back to you.
- Sing simple Telugu lullabies like "Jo jo laali" slowly, with exaggerated mouth movements so baby can watch and try to imitate.
- Carry baby around the house while doing chores, narrating what you're doing in a sing-song voice to encourage vocal responses.
