At-Home Strategies

  • Place baby on back and gently bring their hands together in front of their chest while singing clapping rhymes.
  • Tie a soft cloth with small bells or a rattle across baby's chest at arm's reach to encourage them to bring hands together to grab it.
  • During feeding time, let baby touch the bottle or your hand with both hands, helping them practice bringing hands to midline.
  • Lay baby on back and dangle a dupatta or soft cloth above them, encouraging them to reach up with both hands to grasp it.
