At-Home Strategies
- Respond to baby's different sounds with matching expressions - smile when they make happy sounds, show concern when they sound upset.
- Make exaggerated sounds showing different emotions - excited "Aha!", sad "Ayyo", happy giggling - and encourage baby to imitate.
- During play, narrate baby's emotions with sound and word: "You are happy! Ha ha!" or "Oh, frustrated? Hmm" to help connect sounds with feelings.
- Sing Telugu songs with different emotional tones - lullabies softly, action songs energetically - so baby experiences varied vocal expressions.
